High voltage pylons with electric power lines transfering electricity from solar photovoltaic sells at sunrise. Production of sustainable energy concept.

In an era marked by environmental challenges and the pressing need for sustainable energy solutions, Emulate is thrilled to join forces with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Camus Energy and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in the CIDER Initiative.

“This initiative isn’t just a project for us; it represents an opportunity for Emulate to continue building on its leadership in Scandinavia and deploy its best learnings in a new market. The energy markets are surprisingly insular and projects like this will facilitate corss pollination of different approaches that accelerate innovation” states Shwan Lamei, CEO of Emulate Energy.

The Essence of the CIDER Initiative

At the heart of the CIDER Initiative lies the goal to harness and optimize Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) to ensure a stable, efficient, and sustainable energy supply. By integrating innovative technologies like Emulate’s virtual battery system, the initiative aims to enhance grid reliability, reduce environmental impact, and pave the way for a more adaptable energy infrastructure.

Our Virtual Battery: A Game-Changer

Emulate’s virtual battery technology plays a central role in this transformative project. “Being selected to participate in this significant industry initiative is a testament to our team’s hard work and learnings from the Scandinavian markets” says Shwan Lamei, CEO of Emulate Energy.

Our virtual battery system aggregates the flexibility of DERs to create a unified, responsive energy resource. This innovative approach transforms traditional demand flexibility to a battery equivalent resource.

The Path Forward

“The CIDER Initiative represents a significant step forward in our quest to achieve breakthrough innovation that benefits both consumers and utilities while accelerating the energy transition. We’re honored to be part of this project and excited about the potential impact of our technology,” concludes Shwan Lamei.
